Edwards & Kelcey Conference room, 343 Congress Street, Boston, MA.
The NEITE Technical Committee has shortlisted two topics for further research during this fall. The topics are
The second project on Red Light Running cameras is going to be further investigated by a sub-committee led by member Rod Emery. Rod is going to contact the NEITE Legislative Liaison Committee to see if they are interested in pursuing the project in conjunction with members of the Tech Committee. At the previous meeting, the committee has decided to revisit the approach to this topic in light of the City of Boston's recent interest in red light running cameras. About the CommitteeThe NEITE Technical Committee consists of dozens of participants who have donated thousands of hours to the projects, in a true public/private partnership. Committee members include an array of traffic engineers, with private consultants as well as professionals from the Massachusetts Highway Department (MHD) and the Central Transportation Planning Staff. For nearly a decade, Committee members in metropolitan Boston have been meeting to share and expand their knowledge of the profession. The Committee has undertaken several in-depth projects, including publishing Traffic Calming Guidelines and validating capacity analysis methodologies for both signalized and unsignalized intersections.
