The Third Transportation Student Research Symposium

Abstract Detail

Name School Title of presentation
Nicholas Poulos Boston University Integrated Corridor Management Systems initiatives to manage transportation assets

Divider!

The Integrated Corridor Management Systems initiative (ICMS) will attempt to create a common, replicable set of guidelines and procedures for agencies within a region to cooperate and manage transportation assets within a corridor so as to reduce congestion and ensure efficient utilization of all resources. The project is being coordinated by the U.S. Department of Transportation in partnership with the Volpe Center, and has eight pioneer sites from which four final test sites will be chosen.

Currently, our work is focused on creating a series of policy documents. These include a statement of work and evaluation framework, and will be used to clarify the goals of the projects, provide guidance in selecting the final pioneer sites, and create objective parameters by which the results of the project can be measured.
