A well calibrated urban rail simulation model can be very helpful in operations analysis, capacity prediction, and other system performance evaluation. The paper presents an urban rail simulation model, capable of simulating a wide range of system configurations and signal control, including fixed block control logic, passenger demand, dwell times, and incidents. Results from a case study using the Red Line illustrate the applicability of the model.
