Simulation-based Dynamic Traffic Assignment (DTA) systems integrate state-of-the-art transportation demand and supply models, and their interactions, to support a wide range of transportation analysis, operations and planning applications. The complexity of such systems is underscored by the vast set of inputs and parameters that control modeling accuracy and system performance. This research focuses on a mathematical framework and solution methodology for the systematic calibration of DTA systems using traffic sensor data.
