Simulation has become in recent years one of the most used and powerful tools for systems analysis and design, helping the system designer to find solutions for building new systems, or assess the impact of proposed changes on an already existing system. In this project we create a model of backbay grid in downtown Boston consisting of 48 intersectoins in TSIS 5.0. Control strategies are generated using TRANSYT-7F and MAXBAND. The control strategies are then evaluated using computerized microscopic simulation model NETSIM of TSIS 5.0 using MOEs such as average delay, fuel efficiency, and vehicle emission. The results are then analyzed for comparing the control startegies.
