| Daniel M. Dulaski | UMass Amherst | Identifying a Unique Centerline Line Rumble Strip: Why and How? |
![]()
| Many states have started to use rumble strips on the centerline of undivided roadways to address the high incidence of cross-over centerline crashes. Unfortunately, research indicates when the shoulder pattern is used on the centerline, driver's expectancy is violated. It is hypothesized that if the pattern were distinct, drivers may be more likely to respond correctly when CRS are encountered. This research involves evaluating driver's responses to different centerline patterns. |
